Imputation. Carl Menger's reversal, made in 1871, of how value was thought to travel. Classical economists ran it forward — a thing was worth what its making had cost. Menger showed the arrow points the other way: only the finished cup is wanted, and the hillside, the mill, the ship, and the roaster's drum hold no value of their own. Theirs is imputed backward from the wanting. Friedrich von Wieser named the doctrine Zurechnung and gave it its test: a factor is worth the loss you would suffer without it.
Sourced From: Roastify
Tasting Profile
A medium roast delivering harmonious toffee, dark chocolate, and citrus notes in a perfectly balanced cup. Medium body, bright finish.
Origin & Region
A four-country blend: Brazilian chocolate richness, Colombian smoothness, Guatemalan brightness, and Ethiopian complexity. Each origin was chosen for what the others lack. Withdraw any one and the gap it leaves is exactly what it was worth — which is the whole of Wieser's argument, in a cup.
