Ambient Weather WS-2000 Smart Weather Station
Ambient Weather WS-2000 Smart Weather Station
Before you buy: this station needs Wi-Fi and a wall outlet. The outdoor array reports by radio to an indoor color console, and the console reaches the internet only through Wi-Fi and runs on its plug-in adapter. You need a house, barn or shed with both, within radio range of the array. Ambient Weather offers no cellular option. If your plot has only cellular coverage and sun, buy the ECOWITT WittField 4G & Solar Field Weather Station instead.
The WS-2000 pairs an all-in-one outdoor sensor array, measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, rainfall, UV and solar radiation, with a color touchscreen console for the kitchen counter. It is the console that Ambient Weather's add-on sensors report to, including the WH31SM soil moisture probe.
Out in the field. The array runs on three AAA batteries, so no cable needs to reach the post, and it can stand in the open away from buildings that shade it or bend the wind. Only the console needs power.
Getting the data. The console uploads to the free AmbientWeather.net service, which serves your readings back through a documented REST API keyed to your own Application Key and API Key. FieldData MCP reads Ambient Weather accounts as well as Ecowitt, so your scripts and AI agents can read this station in the same SI units as any other, and Good Earth MCP can set its readings beside its projections for your block.
